An opportunity like this doesn’t come around very often… like once in 97 years… until now! My good friends and great real estate agents, Kim and Frieda, have for sale this historic home in Nampa, Idaho. And this is not just an old home… it was the home of Nampa’s Woman’s Century Club for nearly 90 years… providing so much support to this small community through some very rough times.
We’ve got some great pictures for you to get a feel for what homelife might have been like over 100 years ago, I’ll tell you a little about this home just in case you would like to own some Nampa history, and we finish up with a nice video tour of this awesome property!
Living in a 118 year old home...
Can you imagine what it would be like to live real history? Actually, it’s not that much different from today… except homes back in the day had more charm and personality. This place had a stage in the living room… so that was probably outside of the norm; but the fixtures and solid-wood floors and the layout of the home certainly harkens back to simpler times.
What a treasure trove of great Nampa, Idaho history! You can still find copies of this fine book, Nampa’s People, 1886-1986: Discovering Our Heritage, published by the Nampa Centennial Committee back in 1986.

This book gives a little historical narrative about this house:
Club members needed a place to hold meetings and activities so they worked and saved; in 1929 they were able to purchase the Commermier home, a handsome frame house at the corner of 2nd St and 17th Avenue South, for $7,000. They paid $2,000 down and carried a mortgage. This is still the home of the club (in 1986). It has been redecorated, but it has never lost its original character and charm. Regular meetings of the club are held here, and it is available to the community for receptions, recitals and like functions.

Treasure Valley Dave's Thoughts
You know me… I kind of have a thing for history! Small-town history is just awesome; so many stories of overcoming challenges and helping neighbors… character-building times that honed our shared American experience. This home speaks of those times in its character and feel… and that it is just on the edge of historic downtown Nampa just richens the old-timey flavor.
An opportunity to tour a place such as this doesn’t come along every day… you can become the new owner OR you can book an AirBnB stay here and enjoy the awesomeness if for only a short stay. Maybe you would just like your own private tour… well, I can make that happen as well. Just don’t wait too long… someone else might buy this up and you could miss out on this chance for another 100 years.
Maybe you think this home is super-cool… but it’s just not what you need at this point? Mareen and I have you covered there as well! We would be super-excited to help you look at other homes or talk about your plans for moving to Idaho or maybe just moving across the Treasure Valley. It could be that you are ready to sell your current home to move to a place that better fits your situation? No matter what’s going on, just give me and Mareen a call, text, email or smash that Contact Us button and let’s get started! Oh… maybe we can do lunch too!
