If you’ve been following along with Treasure Valley Dave for a while, you might remember the “Summer of Yumm” events from last year. These were a series of fundraiser meals in Marsing, Idaho to support the local food pantry; The Hub. GOOD NEWS! The “Summer of Yumm” is back for 2026!
Dave recently set in on a “Summer of Yumm” planning meeting with a couple of the volunteers; Chef James Glenn and Pastor Jody Hampton of the Marsing Church of the Nazarene. The menu and dates were just being finalized and hopes to raise even more money for the local food pantry ran high!

What the Summer of Yumm means for YOU!
YOU get to help a great cause… helping your local neighbors in need by supporting The Hub; Marsing’s food pantry. Also, YOU get a great meal prepared by Chef James and a host of volunteers.
Chef James recently had a private preview of this year’s menu and I got to try the “Stagecoach” burger; it’s gonna be a hit!!
Please come out and buy a meal or two and help Marsing’s own The Hub food pantry.
What this means for the local community!
The “Summer of Yumm” of 2025 was able to present to The Hub food pantry a substantial gift of $1000 last fall! This really shows the heart the local community has to help out their neighbors. Chef James and Pastor Jody are so excited for this year’s series of “Summer of Yumm” fundraising events and expect to help The Hub even more because of the continued generosity of this great community of Marsing, Idaho!

It really warms my heart to see so much community support to help neighbors in need. The Hub food pantry in Marsing really goes above and beyond to provide food and more to those who need it. It’s great to see Pastor Jody and the Marsing Nazarene church help out in so many ways… and it’s great, too, that Chef James continues to give back and helps to make Marsing an even better place in today’s world. Of course… all the great people who come out and enjoy a great meal and who are so generous with their money, time and prayers are really the secret awesome sauce that makes Marsing such a wonderful community!
