Nampa, Idaho, is again recognized as the Best Run City in America! Don’t you want to be on a winning team?
Does Nampa Ever Get Bored of Being Great?
You probably already know that not all cities in America are the same. But did you know that Nampa, again, has been rated America’s Best-Run City? I’ll tell you what that means from actually living here and we’ll compare what the difference is between Nampa and some of the worst-run cities. Brian sent me this story (Daily Mail.com story) that provides a stark contrast… drives home the reason for why we live in Nampa and the Treasure Valley.
WalletHub publishes their annual survey and it is a wealth of information. “San Francisco has ranked as America’s worst-run city, thanks to its looming $1.4 billion budget deficit and social problems from homelessness to crime and cash-strapped public schools… a damning indictment of the administration of Mayor London Breed.”
“San Francisco has in recent months been battling a glut of negative headlines about the social ills plaguing a city that was until recently noted as a picturesque cultural hub on the Pacific coast.” Usually I save my commentary for the end, but it has to be said; what if Mayor Breed battled the problems instead of the headlines? Could that possibly be more helpful?
Nampa, Idaho on the other hand, “… scored high thanks to low crime rates, strong economic growth, steadily growing property values, and ‘extremely low’ public debt of $564 per person, many times lower than elsewhere.” Just this week, I spoke before Mayor Kling and the City Council to give my input to a local issue. I’m just a normal person… not a big-money donor or special-interest group… and my City Leaders were interested in what I had to say. This might be something new to you if you’re coming from San Francisco! (Photos; Daily Mail & Nampa City website)
Treasure Valley Dave's Thoughts
Yes, Nampa is great! But other cities or towns in the Treasure Valley are very good too but weren’t big enough for the survey. Boise is big enough and it ranked in the top 5 of best-run cities. But why is Idaho better? We could talk about that for hours! If you live here already, you know what I mean. If you don’t live here yet, you’ve really got something to look forward to!
