Movie Christmas Houses are Special!
I can’t recall any great Christmas movies being shot here in Idaho’s Treasure Valley area, but that doesn’t mean you can’t live in a home similar to those in fantastic Christmas movies you enjoyed growing up with. Today I’ve picked three Christmas movies that I really enjoyed (A Christmas Story, Christmas Vacation, and Home Alone) where the home was as much a character in the movie as any of the stars.
Of course we don’t have the exact same homes, but I found some that have a similar look and feel of the movie homes; just have to use a little imagination! These homes were actually for sale and more will be coming on the market!
Remember Ralphie and A Christmas Story?
A Christmas Story… do you remember Ralphie saying he wanted an official Red Ryder air rifle for Christmas? The timeless quote from his mom, “No, You’ll shoot your eye out!” Oh the wonderful memories had in that home. It wasn’t a fancy home by any means… and this home here in Star isn’t all that fancy either. But it’s a great home for kids to build some great memories in!
What about Christmas Vacation, Cousin Eddie?
And do you recall in Christmas Vacation when Eddie sidled up to Clark in front of the house? Eddie asked, “You surprised?” and Clark answered, “Surprised, Eddie? If I woke up tomorrow with my head sewn to the carpet, I wouldn’t be more surprised than I am right now!” (Okay, I know you were thinking of that other famous quote… but I’m trying to keep this family-friendly.) For sure this home over in south Nampa has plenty of room for all those vacationing families who come to visit… invited or not!
Don't Forget when Kevin was Home Alone!
Rounding out today’s greatest Christmas movies is Home Alone. Have you ever felt like young Kevin when, frustrated at all the commotion, he said, “This house is so full of people it makes me sick. When I grow up and get married, I’m living along!”? I have a suspicion that you would never feel like that in this home in west Nampa… it has over 4200 sq ft with 7 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms! You’d have to have A LOT of visitors to fill up all that space!
