Why Living in Payette is Great

What makes living in Payette great? Well, it’s got the only original style A&W restaurant that I know of. All the other ones are mixed in with Kentucky Fried Chicken or something, and they’re in a box, but this one, I mean, you can almost feel that frosty mug taste on your upper lip right now.

That’s what I’m talking about, and they’ve also got this great little park right here at the end of downtown. They’ve got kids playing; they’ve got this bandshell over here. I just wonder what kind of concerts they put on there that look so inviting. I tell you what, if I had any musical talent at all, I’d probably be in there with some of my buddies that also don’t have any musical talent, and we’ve been making a joyful noise. I’m pretty sure about that.

The Park

Look at these monkey bars over there. I don’t see any safety features on that. Look at these kinds of swings. When’s the last time you saw something like that? I mean, it’s like we’re going back to a movie set, and Doc Brown’s about to pop out around the corner.

Let’s look at this slide, it says “American”. What does your slide say? Oh my gosh, can you imagine this? It’s a bazillion degrees out at noon, the sun’s right overhead, and you will end up with some toasted buns on this bad boy, but you know what, you’re going to have fun doing it.

There’s a skate park, and you know what, there’s a lot of kids having fun and there ain’t no graffiti. Isn’t that the kind of place you’d want your kids to go play? Oh my gosh, here comes a train, so you know, Payette is obviously near the train tracks, but it’s also near the Snake River, which is just right on the other side of those trees.

I’d like to give you a feel for what downtown Payette looks like. It is certainly a cute little town. You got those mountains back there, that big proud flagpole right there. I’ve been to most of the thrift stores here in half the restaurants and I can tell you I’ve  never had a bad experience here  and I’ve actually done some real estate transactions up here and it’s always been a pleasant place to work I had to get some information from the city before, very easy-going, laid back.

Fruitland and Payette are pretty close to each other just a few miles apart but they do have a very different feel between the two of them so if you’re going to come up and check out one over the other I’d suggest you check them both out. You can also check out Fruitland by going here! I’m gonna say our traditional downtown here in Payette is pretty decent size I did see a couple empty storefronts along the way so if you’re thinking of you’d like to have your own store come on over.

That’s beautiful little bungalow isn’t it oh my gosh  and some more houses over there. They’re not great big things, but it looks like they all have basements. There’s another cute little bungalow over there  nice and most these blocks have you know the traditional oh look at the squirrel hello little buddy so much nature here most of these you know they have the alley behind the houses so you can park back there or access your backyard that way oh look at that could you imagine living in there Wow, you needed like those extra four or five bedrooms. Do you know what that reminds me of? Did you see that movie “A Christmas Story” with Rachel?

Payette embraces diversity. We’ve got old houses and new houses isn’t that great? Here we got some good views of the mountains. All around you see those mountains way over there with the snow on them that’s Oregon of course.
