The Ultimate Guide to Living in Fruitland, Idaho

It got its name from the surrounding orchards of fruit trees and was initially called the Big Apple of Idaho because of this! So, after coming here, you can tell everyone that you visited the Big Apple, and they’ll assume you went to New York! How great is that?!

This small city of about 3,000 people is located about 45 minutes northwest from Boise, ID. It really is a straight shot once you get on the freeway. How long it takes you to get to Boise really does depend on who’s driving though; am I right?

Downtown Fruitland

The Community Park

This park was quiet, clean, and had plenty of space to do just about any outdoor activity you would like to!

It has:

  • A Playground
  • Public Restrooms
  • Covered Seating
  • Open Space
  • Lots of Shade
  • A Splash Pad

Just about everything you would expect a quality park to have!

Here’s some more photos of the park:

The Treasure Valley Academy

Directly across the street from the Community Park is the Treasure Valley Classical Academy. It’s a gorgeous brick charter school serving students in the 6th through the 12th grade. During the day you will see several students (identified by the school uniform) walking around town, showing that Fruitland is considered a safe place for kids!

More of Downtown Fruitland

From the community park it takes about ten minutes to walk down the main street of Fruitland’s downtown. It still has that old town classical feel. It’s quiet and peaceful, but based on some of the events the city puts on it’s sure to be bustling every now and then!

Fruitland's Fruit Stands

A visit to Fruitland wouldn’t be complete without checking out any of the local fruit stands! Right off the highway that runs through Fruitland is a produce stand with a huge variety of fruits and veggies.

THERE’S NOT JUST ONE PRODUCE STAND…THERE’S TWO!!!

Fruitland is a City in Development

In the southeast of Fruitland there is quite a bit of development going on. The homes in this area are beautiful! And because Fruitland is a little further out from the Boise area, your dollar goes further here!
