Fruitland… along the very most western edge of Idaho finds itself just far enough away from the hustle and bustle of Boise and Meridian and yet close enough to enjoy all the benefits of the Treasure Valley.
Smaller, less crowded and great people. And right across the Snake River is Ontario, Oregon where you can find many places to shop, eat and maybe even work.
Enjoy this glimpse of living in Fruitland and be sure to check out my video tour where I walk around downtown, drive through various neighborhoods and take a look at homes on the market. An extra bonus at the end of the video is a loot at Ontario!
Where is Fruitland, Idaho?
Fruitland is about a half-hour or an hour away from the Treasure Valley… depending on where you are starting from or going to. The nice thing is there is Interstate 84 just south of Fruitland and all the way southeast through Caldwell, Nampa and Boise. Most of the trip on I-84 is at 80 mph… so it goes pretty quickly!

Great Video Look at Fruitland
I know; this video is a little long… but it’s really three videos in one (plus a bonus). I first start off walking around the Fruitland downtown area, then I take a drive on some of the main streets of town and then through various neighborhood; some with older homes and others brand new. Finally I go through the current property listings to share a feel of what kind of properties you could buy in Fruitland and their asking prices. You can really find a home for any budget here in Fruitland… and the quality of life is included!!
Treasure Valley Dave's Thoughts
No doubt, Fruitland, Idaho is a great community! Small-town America feel, friendly folks, kind of out by itself yet close enough to all the big-city things you might ever need.
While out filming, I stopped in at The Vintage Bunkhouse, shopped around and had a great conversation with the young lady working the counter. She moved to Fruitland from California a few years ago and joined the Fruitland high school. She was so warmly received by the students here and was amazed that the sense of “school spirit” she experience here… something she did not find in California. Good job, Fruitland!
But Fruitland might not be for you if you thrive on the vibe of hustle and bustle or if you work in the Boise, Meridian, Nampa areas or elsewhere in the Treasure Valley. It’s not that far to drive from Fruitland to make a Costco run in the Nampa or Boise… but for everyday commuting to work or school, living in the Treasure Valley proper might be a better option.
