Exploring Downtown Caldwell, Idaho

Hey everybody, Treasure Valley Dave here! I just finished exploring downtown Caldwell, Idaho, so I wanted to share all the great stuff I saw.

I am at the Indian Creek Festival, and I’m not sure what it’s all about, but I think they got a car show, tug of war, kayak races, and who knows what else! So let’s find out and see what’s happening in Caldwell, Idaho!

What’s Downtown Caldwell Like?

Well, today is just beautiful weather for Caldwell, Idaho. I don’t think you could ask for anything better. We’re on the outskirts of this whole thing, so let’s walk over there and see what it’s all about. Before we start, I must tell you that Caldwell is similar to Nampa. They are bordering cities, and you often drive through one without realizing you’re in the other!

I’m in the plaza area, and the people always have something fun going on down here. Right by me is Indian Creek, where over a million lights are set up in winter. Last season, they had a fire-breathing dragon made out of lights and stuff! You could come by the river and eat your lunch, watching the river go by. No trash, homelessness, or graffiti — it’s all just rushing water. The city has even been featured in our Relocation Magazine

People have already camped out for the kayak races. That’s going to be a fun event! We’ve got all sorts of vendors and stuff, and the air is so fresh and crisp. It’s not cold out here; it feels like it’s in the 60s.

Why Would You Want to Live in Caldwell?

Caldwell has a way of taking you back to America. It’s like you go back in time here. What does your America look like right now? Gang bangers? Maybe rap music at unbearable decibels? Graffiti, trash, and fear that someone will look you in the eye and beat you? Not here.

Speaking of the central plaza, they will have a SpongeBob musical, free for the whole family. There is something fun to do throughout the entire summer. You can see the splash pads where the water shoots out of the ground, and the kids can play with them. On any random day, you can see a mom sitting around at these tables and conversing with their friends while the kids are splashing around and having a blast.

As far as some shopping and eating goes, we’ve got Extreme Pizza, Fire & Ice Pottery, some wine places, and various stores getting rehabbed on the other side. As much as people think Idaho is just all potatoes, they have some great shopping and dining here.
