For every three homes sold in the Treasure Valley, two were existing homes, and one was new construction. Typical new homes, between $200,000 and $400,000, cost about $3.24 per square foot more than an existing home, so a large 2,000 square foot contemporary home would cost about $6,480 more than an existing home.
