Making the relocation journey from Vacaville, CA himself, Dave Edwards knew he had to share the magic of the Treasure Valley with all the other people searching for a better way of life. He was raised in a rural town in Nebraska where he came to know community and small-town friendliness as a way of life.
After over 10 years of active military service, Dave then lived in California for over 20 years, where he joined the police force. He was also a co-owner of a small manufacturing business and learned first-hand the challenges businesses faced in such places as California. Upon retiring from his local police department, Dave and his family moved to the Treasure Valley.
Why relocate to the Nampa, Idaho area? Because of the friendliness of the people, the mild and low-humidity climate, and the air of freedom. He explains, “Here you don’t have the government or social justice warriors examining and controlling every aspect of your life… your personal life or your business life.” Coming from California, Dave found this extremely important. After living in Germany, Hawaii & California, Mareen Alstede made the move to Eagle, Idaho in 2019 in search of a better home and environment to raise her family. Steven was born in Montana (he literally lived in the rockies), after entering the 5th grade his family decided to move to Oregon. There he graduated from high school and decided to move to the eastside of Seattle (he lived there for about 10 years) moved to Olympia, WA for 6 years, and then moved to Meridian.
Steven decided it was time to leave Washington because of the homelessness and drug problems that were ever increasing. He didn’t feel that the state government was doing enough in that regard and did too much when covid hit. He was laid off from job because of covid and that was the straw that pushed him out of the state. His family moved to Meridian and they love it!
TREASURE VALLEY AARON | AARON BRUNSON

He was stationed at Mountain Home AFB for four years and during that time would visit the Boise Costco and catch a movie on the weekends. Aaron grew up in California but after having visited Boise throughout his enlistment, he knew he never wanted to leave.
What stuck out to Aaron the most about Boise was the people. He felt that everyone in the area was more patient and a little nicer to all of those around them. It was just a different kind of place.
After separating from the military he moved to Caldwell and started his career in Marketing with a local business owner. As his skills grew he found his way to the Treasure Valley Dave team where he continues to share his love for the Boise Area and how his experience living here compares to living in California.

Having moved to Nampa, Idaho from California at a young age, Kelly Edwards has experienced what the relocation process is like for high schoolers, finding their way in a new state. Embracing the Idaho lifestyle, Kelly studied Theatre Arts at Boise State University. Recently, she has joined the TVD team as marketing director, but continues to pursue her theatre passions as a stage manager as well – keeping her finger on the pulse of the valley’s arts and culture scene.
